With Medicare coverage of hearing aids on the horizon and OTC hearing aids soon to be on the market, the profession needs the infrastructure and guidance in place to help audiology practices to thrive. Members of the Academy’s Payment Policy Advisory Council (PPAC) will provide a prospectus for the payment landscape for audiology services. Discussion will include an overview of new code development through the CPT and RUC processes and how to navigate Medicare and Medicaid. Additionally, the PPAC members will facilitate a dialogue with audiologists on strategies for educating payors and patients about paying for optimal hearing health.

Learning Objectives:

Discuss priority audiology code development through CPT and RUC processes.
Identify approaches for outreach to payors.
Implement strategies to achieve payment of services even in the absence of a code and/or payor coverage.
