The Polaris™ Chip has allowed Oticon to create and produce the world’s first Deep Neural Network (DNN) completely on-the-chip. Oticon More™ provides the brain with more of what the brain needs to better understand speech in noise using the “Orient-Focus-Recognize” paradigm. In this presentation, we will review the evidence which demonstrates an improved correlation between the EEG and the acoustic sound scene via Oticon More, an improved ability to selectively attend to the sound of interest, an improved signal-to-noise ratio, better recall and memory, as well as less listening effort while using Oticon More in challenging listening situations.
Learning Objectives:
Describe the process the brain follows to orient, focus and recognize sounds in the environment.
Summarize the evidence that demonstrates better recall and reduced listening effort with Oticon More in challenging listening situations.
Identify advantages associated with deep neural networks in hearing aids.
