Abstract: This session will discuss coding and reimbursement issues in audiology practice. Topics include Medicare and Medicaid policies, as well as trends in Medicare Advantage plans and other third-party administrators or referral networks. Attendees will be given resources for continued learning and guidance on coverage and reimbursement policies relevant to audiology practice across a variety of payers.

Learning Objectives:

Describe how audiologists’ designation in the Social Security Act influences how audiologists are reimbursed under the Medicare program.
Identify the process by which individuals can collaborate with state entities to address Medicaid coverage issues.
Evaluate Medicare Advantage and other third-party plans or contracts for evidence of coverage or contracted terms for audiology services.
