Associate Professor and Associate Director of Fellowship Programs University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill
In this plenary presentation, Todd Zakrasjek, associate professor, Department of Family Medicine, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and president of the International Teaching Learning Cooperative, will focus our attention on implementing innovative and effective active learning strategies. In addition, the session will bring forth some of the myths about active learning that Zakrasjek has debunked through his research and present us with alternative ways of thinking about active learning, particularly as it relates to understanding how active learning strategies impact (positively or negatively) our STEM students from marginalized communities.
