Program Abstract: This session will offer results and insights about the integration of focused instruction that promotes self-efficacy development into a foundational non-STEM first-year general education course designed to improve persistence and academic success in targeted STEM majors. Findings of the project contribute to the knowledge base on STEM retention and student academic success. The results further serve as a model to aid other small liberal arts schools in increasing completion rates and effectively preparing students for success beyond college.
