Christina Gallup, Associate Professor, Department of Earth and Environmental Science, Univeristy of Minnesota Duluth
Dr. Gallup helped to create the Anti-Racist Learning Community (ARLC) at the Univeristy of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) in the spring of 2021. She and the other organizers led a group of 170 faculty and staff through the process of using Isabelle Wilkerson's book "Caste: the Origins of our Discontents" to identify systemic inequities at UMD. Through the formation of Affinity Groups based on areas requiring action to address systemic inequities, the ARLC has made recommendations to senior UMD leadership and is currently in the process of turning key recommendations into specific proposals for actions to acheive those recommendations.
