Jason A. Moore (he/him/his) serves as Director for Access and Academic Strategy within the Office of the Chancellor-Provost at Rutgers University-New Brunswick, a public R-1 and flagship of the State of New Jersey. With 20+ years of experience in academic services, school counseling, athletic compliance, federal and state sponsored-project management, and behavioral health within both higher-ed and K-12. Moore leads strategic direction, academic policy review, success and advocacy planning, and the advancement of standards of practice for ensuring accessible, navigable success pathways, under the auspices of the Vice Provost for Undergraduate Education. Moore's oversight includes campus-wide research and policy coordination for transfer and adult learners, military ROTC administration (Air Force, Army, and Navy), and the NSF-sponsored Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation-LSAMP STEM Program for undergraduate research. Moore also serves as Chair for the RU1ST Alliance, a think-tank advisory for cross-division policy, research, and advocacy to enhance and support first-generation student success at Rutgers–New Brunswick, Co-Chair of Rutgers' Student Success Steering Committee, and as Campus Lead for Rutgers’ 2019 designation by NASPA and the Center for First-Generation Student Success as a First-gen Forward Advisory Institution for informing national best practices for first-generation students that support timely degree completion.
With a background in organizational development and change management, Moore’s accomplishments have centered around maximizing resources and service delivery, with strategic alignment and succession planning to more directly meet stakeholder expectations. A native of New Jersey, Moore has spent the last nine years with Rutgers University, and in previous leadership roles at the 2-year and 4-year level, including George Mason University, North Carolina A&T State University, and Middlesex College.
