Kandi L. Duff, Ed.D Western Governors University Program Chair, College of General Education
Kandi has spent her professional career in education, teaching at the high school and college levels. At Western Governors University she is the Program Chair over the Math Domain in the College of General Education, liaison with the Teachers College, and in charge of the development and launch of the new Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies. Recently, she represented WGU in a presentation at the National Science Teachers Association, has co-authored a book chapter on keys to retention of pre-service and in-service teachers, and helped develop short videos that were infused into the physical science curriculum to increase student understanding. In the public schools she taught physical science, biology, math, and veterinary science. She also taught anatomy and physiology and astronomy classes for Idaho State University and the College of Western Idaho as an adjunct professor through the Early College Program. Previously, she taught at Brigham Young University-Idaho and helped to develop the agricultural education program at that university as well as spearheaded the accreditation process for the program. Kandi was named Idaho Science Teacher of the Year in 2002. Kandi received her B.S. from the University of Idaho in agricultural education. She received her M.Ed. in Instructional Technology and Ed. D. in Educational Leadership, Higher Ed Administration, from Idaho State University.
Kandi lives on a sheep ranch in Idaho with her husband, Mike. She is the mother of 6 children and grandmother of 8.
