I am a physician-scientist and Medical Oncologist specialised in management of advanced prostate cancer; my main research interest it the development of new, less toxic and more effective treatments for patients with advanced prostate cancer but, particularly, study how can we be more precise in selecting the best drug for each patient at every moment of the disease evolution. I believe molecular stratification of prostate cancer can help delivering more precise cancer care for our patient, ultimately improving patient outcome.
I lead the Prostate Cancer Translational Research Group at the Vall Hebron Institute of Oncology (VHIO, Barcelona, Spain), as well treat patients with advanced prostate cancer at the Medical Oncology Department of the Vall Hebron University Hospital. My multidisciplinary research group aims to improve prostate cancer drug development through a better integration of molecular and clinical data. Additionally, I am the national co-lead for the IRONMAN Registry in Spain, and my lab serves as the central biospecimen lab, creating a platform for clinic-biomarker data integration from mPC patients.
Since 2020, I chair the ESMO Precision Medicine and Translational Research Working Group, where we try to develop support and educational tools to facilitate implementation of precision medicine strategies into routine clinical practice.
