Dr. Laurent-Puig is the Professor of Medicine (oncology) at the Paris University in France.
He is the director of the research unit Personalized Medicine, Pharmacogenomics and therapeutic optimization, and the director of the integrated site of cancer research, CARPEM (www.carpem.fr).
After internship and specialist clinical training in gastroenterology, Dr. Laurent-Puig embarked upon a doctorate and post-doctoral research on the characterization of somatic alteration in cancer. This dual training has equipped him for developing translational research. Since 2002 he has lead a research unit focusing on new diagnostic prognostic and predictive resistance markers including the development of new technics for assessing circulating tumor DNA mainly in colon cancers. They have now integrated all these biomarkers to develop precision medicine in colon cancer patients. He manages large integrative research projects and since 2013 has lead the SIRIC CARPEM funded by INCA.
