Dr. Cercek is a board-certified medical oncologist who specializes in the treatment of patients with gastrointestinal cancers, particularly colorectal and appendix cancer. Her research focus is in development of novel systemic and regional therapies, including approaches based on tumor genomics, with the goal of improving outcomes while minimizing treatment related toxicities.
She is the founder and co-director of the Center for Young Onset Colorectal and Gastrointestinal Cancer -- the first clinic of its kind in the world dedicated solely to the specific needs of people under 50 who have colorectal cancer or other gastrointestinal cancers. The clinic has a dual focus of a dedicated research center as well as coordinated clinical care for young adults with colorectal and gastrointestinal cancer.
