Pr Magali Svrcek works in the Department of Pathology of Saint-Antoine hospital (Sorbonne Université, AP-HP, Paris, France). She is an expert in gastro-intestinal pathology, including inflammatory bowel diseases, colorectal, gastric and pancreatic cancers (skills in surgical and molecular pathology). She is a member of the research group “Microsatellite Instability and Cancers” (UMR_S938, centre de Recherche Saint-Antoine, France). During her PhD (obtained in 2009), she worked on “The role of Microsatellite Instability in the carcinogenesis of colorectal cancers complicating inflammatory bowel diseases ».
She belongs to several French and European networks and working groups (French networks TENpath and RENAPE, European WG of gastrointestinal pathology, H-ECCO WG, European Consortium Care for CMMRD and Hereditary Diffuse Gastric Cancer Consortium).
She is referent pathologist of colorectal group in GERCOR (French Multidisciplinary Cancer Research Group) since 2016. Within this group, management of biological cohorts of patients included in immunotherapy clinical trials (BMS CheckMate 142, TESARO, IDEA France, BioMIROX; NEONIPIGA).
She is also involved in the development of algorithms for artificial intelligence-assisted pathology in daily practice in pathology laboratories, both with industrial and academic partners.
