Compromised skin integrity, alongside multiple organ failure, is commonplace in terminally ill patients making treatment and management of these end-of-life skin changes complex. Further complicating this clinical picture is confusion on terminology, current understanding of unavoidable wounds vs. pressure injuries and the paucity of science related to this skin color change. This session will examine the current gaps, state of the science and evidence surrounding skin failure at end of life. This session is co-developed by NPIAP.
