Session Description: The Texas Oral Health Improvement Program (OHIP) is a small program in a large state. This presentation explains how OHIP operates and describes how collaboration and vigilance are important to program success. We will share our journey from being an often-over-looked program within our agency to where we are now. We will share triumphs and challenges the program has faced. Our audience will identify with our stories and will walk away with new ideas they can take back to their own programs.
Learning Objectives:
Compare their own approaches to addressing oral health in their state or program with OHIP’s approach.
Identify new opportunities for collaboration within their own program.
Implement strategies to increase awareness of their program and the importance of oral health.
