Alex Bond is the Deputy General Counsel, Climate & Clean Energy for the Edison Electric Institute (EEI) in Washington, D.C. Alex is primarily responsible for advocacy surrounding energy and environmental regulation with a focus on addressing climate change and increasing deployment of electric transportation at both the state and federal level. He also helps implement and coordinate strategic clean energy engagement across EEI and across the federal government.
Prior to joining EEI in 2017, Alex worked in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of General Counsel in the Air & Radiation Law Office handling Clean Air Act issues for the Agency. Prior to that, he worked on air and climate issues at both the Edison Electric Institute and the National Mining Association. Alex began his career working on stationary source issues for the Ozone Transport Commission, which represents the Northeastern states.
Alex received a B.A. in Political Sciences from Swarthmore College in 2007 and a J.D. from the University of Maryland School of Law in 2010. He is currently admitted to practice in Maryland and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit.
