Legislative Officer
Bay Area Air Quality Management District
Alan Abbs is the Legislative Officer for the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, working on legislative activities at the state and federal level. Alan is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, and also a graduate of Chico State University with an MBA. After his naval service, he worked as an engineer for the Pactiv Corporation, and then as the Solid Waste Director for the County of Tehama in Northern Califonia before becoming the Air Pollution Control Officer for the County. Prior to coming to the Bay Area Air Quality Management District, Alan was the Executive Director for the California Air Pollution Control Officers Association, representing the executives of the 35 air quality management districts in California.
