Environmental Engineer

Sharon Shearer is an environmental engineer at the Valero Benicia Refinery who works primarily on air quality issues, including emission inventories, health risk assessments, compliance, permitting, and regulatory tracking. Prior to working in industry, she was an air quality consultant who managed development of air and greenhouse gas technical documentations for her client’s CEQA documents. She also assisted industrial clients with air compliance and project permitting. She has a Ph.D. from UC-Berkeley in Environmental Engineering where her work focused on potential climate impacts to ozone formation mechanisms in photochemical models.
