Dr. Aaron Naeger is a Research Scientist at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and serves as the Deputy Program Applications (DPA) Lead for the NASA TEMPO (Tropospheric Emissions: Monitoring of Pollution) mission. He is also the lead of the aerosol and air quality project at the NASA Short-term Prediction Research and Transition Center (SPoRT). Dr. Naeger has an extensive background in using satellite and ground-based remote sensing instruments for a wide range of applications, which include developing value-added data products, validating and refining model parameterizations, assimilating satellite data for improving weather and air quality forecasts, and improving the understanding of critical atmospheric processes in the Earth system. As DPA of the TEMPO mission, he frequently engages stakeholders and end-users on TEMPO products, applications, and tools to effectively prepare the community for operational TEMPO data.
