Daniel Hamilton has served as the Sustainability Director of the City of Oakland since 2014. He brings more than 25 years of public policy experience in the development of low-carbon solutions to urban challenges, with an emphasis on the role of innovation and deep decarbonization in government. He has led the creation of award winning plans, served on national and international committees leading climate change policy and strategy for local governments, and has authored numerous opinion and leadership articles on climate change, energy policy, and green building. He holds degrees in Architecture and Sustainable Planning from the University of Kansas, and a Climate Fellowship from Cornell University.
