Iau-Ren Ie is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Institute of Environmental Engineering, National Sun Yat-Sen University, Taiwan. His research interests focus on the development of air pollution control technology, particularly on the adsorption of heavy metals including Hg0 and HgCl2 by sulfurized activated carbons. This study combined two sulfur-impregnation technologies to prepare composite sulfurized powdered activated carbons (PACs) originally derived from the pyrolysis of waste tires with the impregnation of Na2S and S0.
