Environmental Engineer

LCDR Sandra Miller, P.E., serves as a Health Assessor in the ATSDR Office of Community Health and Hazard Assessment stationed in Atlanta, Georgia. In this role, she assesses potential health impacts from exposure to hazardous substances in the environment and recommends appropriate actions to prevent or reduce exposures. In addition, she is currently serving as an agency vapor intrusion subject matter expert in-training, leveraging her years of experience as an environmental and geotechnical engineer. LCDR Miller commissioned into the USPHS in 2018 after working as an environmental engineer for the Federal Aviation Administration. Prior to that she worked as an environmental and geotechnical engineer in the engineering consulting field for a dozen years, specializing in transportation related projects. LCDR Miller is registered as a Professional Engineer in the States of Georgia and Alabama. She graduated from the Georgia Institute of Technology with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, and she also has a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Agnes Scott College. LCDR Miller is currently enrolled in the Master of Public Health program at Georgia State University.
