Director of Contaminant Destruction

Dr. Houtz is the director of contaminant destruction technologies at ECT2, working to integrate an onsite PFAS destruction unit into ECT2’s regenerable ion exchange based treatment process. Prior to joining ECT2, Erika spent the first part of her career as an analytical chemist and research scientist developing new analytical and experimental techniques to detect PFAS in environmental and human samples. Most recently, Erika worked an environmental engineering consultant, where she focused on PFAS forensics, chemical fate and transport evaluation, conceptual site model development, and treatment technology R&D.
