Andrew Eilbert is a data scientist working on fuel economy standards and emissions modeling at the Volpe National Transportation Systems Center in Cambridge, MA. Andrew leads various emission inventory and air quality analyses, particularly for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), and the Intelligent Transportation Systems Joint Program Office (ITS JPO). Since joining Volpe in 2016, he has been publishing research on the environmental impacts of emerging technologies such as cooperative driving automation and electronic open-road tolling. He serves as the senior modeler for the Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) Program Toolkit and as secretary of the Air Quality and Greenhouse Gas Mitigation Committee (AMS10) for the Transportation Research Board. Andrew was previously on a fellowship at the National Fuel and Vehicle Emissions Laboratory in Ann Arbor, MI, and he holds a master’s in environmental science and management as well as a bachelor’s in physics.
