Dr. Ashraf Aly Hassan is an assistant professor at the United Arab Emirates University. He has over 20 years of experience practicing environmental engineering with an emphasis on biological treatment of relcitrant pollutants in multi-media. He is a licensed professional engineer in Nebraska. He moved to UAE University from the University of Nebraska Lincoln. He served as the R&D team leader at BioAir Solutions and wrote air pollution permits for high profile industries at the Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality. He was an ORISE post-doctoral fellow at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (USEPA) National Risk Management Research Laboratory. He finished his PhD from University of Cincinnati, MSc from Wageningen University (Netherlands), and BSc from Cairo University (Egypt).
