Dr. Akly is an environmental engineer with over 15 years of experience in the field. She has worked in consulting and industry and has supported government contracts as a consultant. Dr. Akly currently works as an Environmental Services Project Manager for NextEra Energy, Inc. She supports the development, air permitting and compliance for power plants, pipelines and other gas infrastructure projects. Her expertise includes NSR permitting and GHG policy and compliance. Dr. Akly is also an adjunct professor for Air Pollution Control at Florida Atlantic University (FAU).
