Carbon neutral commitments by governments and private companies are increasing every year in an effort to address the climate crisis. More than 20% of the world’s largest 2,000 publicly-traded companies have now made a carbon neutral commitment, roughly twice as many as in 2019. At the same time, guidelines and frameworks continue to evolve: for example, Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) recently announced the world’s first science-based framework for setting corporate net-zero targets.
