Elizabeth (Beth) Dyer, MLIS, AHIP, is Interim Dean of Library Services and Research and Teaching Librarian at the University of New England in Maine. She has experience working with students in medicine, dental medicine, pharmacy, and allied health professions including physician assistant, physical therapy, and nursing. She recently completed a four-year grant project funded by NNLM NER using virtual reality software to teach empathy to medical and other health professions students, and continues to facilitate VR use in the UNE Libraries.
She has an MLIS from the University of South Carolina and will earn an MSEd in Educational Leadership from UNE in fall 2021. She is the current past-chair of the North Atlantic Health Sciences Libraries (NAHSL) regional chapter of the MLA, and conference planning committee co-chair for NASHL 2022. Interests include teaching EBP, systematic review teamwork, virtual reality as an educational tool, information literacy instruction and assessment, and team-based library organization and leadership.
