Dean Giustini, MLIS, MMEd, is an academic health librarian working at the UBC biomedical library at the Vancouver Hospital. He teaches information literacy skills, systematic review searching and critical appraisal in the UBC Faculty of Medicine. As an instructor, he has taught at the UBC iSchool, School of Population and Public Health (SPPH) and the Langara College Library and Information program. In 2017, he won the CHLA/ABSC Margaret Ridley Charlton Award for Outstanding Achievement and, in 2018, the UBC iSchool Mary Sue Stephenson Award for Teaching Excellence. In 2019, he was named an Open Education Champion at UBC. As the pandemic struck in 2020, he created a wiki-based library guide for authoritative COVID-19 information which he updates weekly.
