Ron Caloss earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Texas at Austin, and followed that by earning the D.D.S. in 1994 and the M.D. in 1999 from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He completed a general surgery internship at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. He completed residency training in hospital dentistry at Wake Forest University in Winston Salem, N.C., and oral and maxillofacial surgery at the University of Texas Health Science Center. He completed a facial cosmetic and reconstructive fellowship at Baptist Golden Triangle Hospital in Columbus, Mississippi.
Board-certified in oral and maxillofacial surgery, Dr. Caloss is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and the Christian Medical and Dental Association. He is the author or co-author of several peer-reviewed articles in professional publications.
Caloss joined the School of Dentistry faculty in 2008. Prior to this he was on faculty at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas. His areas of clinical interest include orthognathic and TMJ surgery.
