Matthew E. Pontell, MD is a fellow in the Department of Plastic Surgery at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He received his
Bachelor of Science in Biology at Emory University and his M.D. from St. George’s University School of Medicine where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Distinction in Research, and was a member of the International Medical Honors Society. Matthew is also a board certified general surgeon who completed his residency at the Drexel University College of Medicine / Hahnemann University Hospital program in Philadelphia. He is a member of the Gold Humanism Society, an avid researcher and an aspiring pediatric plastic and craniofacial surgeon. Matthew is married to Diana Pontell, a Pediatrician practicing in Nashville, and they have two sons named Lucas and Noah.
