Dr. Amy Vermillion has over 15 years in nursing education and has been a nurse for 24 years. She has taught at various levels in associate, baccalaureate, and vocational nursing programs. Dr. Vermillion currently serves as Professor and Director, Simulation and Learning Labs at Riverside City College (RCC) School of Nursing. She earned her doctorate in Educational Leadership with specialization in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix and her master's and baccalaureate degrees from University of San Diego. Additionally, she is a Family Nurse Practitioner and has earned Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator certification. She has led the RCC School of Nursing through the re-design of the simulation program and earning Society for Simulation in Healthcare Accreditation in Teaching/Learning. Dr. Vermillion has spearheaded the RCC School of Nursing iRCC initiative which has integrated the use of iPads across the association degree and vocational nursing program curricula and was instrumental in the earning the designation as an Apple Distinguished School in 2021.
