Jennifer Mepham, MSN, BS, RN is the Simulation Education Specialist at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital supporting the hospital team members and clinical students with high fidelity simulation education. Jennifer has been serving as the simulation education specialist since March of 2019; prior to stepping into this role, she was a clinical resource unit nurse floating between a variety of inpatient units, including: oncology, medical, surgical, orthopedic, neurological, cardiac, and pediatric units. Jennifer received her Master’s in Nursing Education from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2019, her Associates Degree in Nursing from Harper College in 2014, and her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Illinois State University in 2011. As the Simulation Education Specialist, Jennifer has the opportunity to impact patient safety by identifying latent safety threats through various types of simulations include space testing, process testing, and traditional simulation both in situ and in lab. Simulating high risk - low volume scenarios allows learners to improve their confident and competency in their clinical ability.
