Tina Bayer is an Associate Professor of Nursing at Queensborough Community College, City University of New York. She has taught at QCC for 17 years and has been a nurse for over 32 years. Tina is the Coordinator of NU-102, the second semester Medical Surgical Nursing course at QCC. Tina has always explored active learning strategies, and high impact educational practices. In fact, she published on the use of gaming in the classroom. Tina participated at QCC’s E- Learning Institute where she obtained the knowledge, skills, and techniques to develop online teaching methods. In addition to her academic career, Tina continues to practice as an advanced practice nurse per diem. Prior to her appointment at QCC, Tina practiced as a nurse practitioner in the cardiac catherization lab at New York Presbyterian Hospital and its affiliate institutions. She also holds a certificate in holistic nursing, and two certificates in holistic health coaching. Tina's holistic nursing training include Amma Therapy and mindfulness.
