International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation & Learning (INACSL) publishes updates every several years on Simulation Standards of Best Practice to reflect the latest evidence. The last update was in 2017 with the release of the Operations Standard. INACSL continues to support global education and dissemination of the Standards to advance the science of simulation. To ensure the simulation community knows the Standards are not just for nursing, INACSL updated the title to reflect the Standards are for all healthcare professions and are developed with the support and input of the global community. Along with a title change, two new standards were developed by the INACSL Standards Committee, reviewed by the INACSL Board of Directors, and global partners. These two new Standards, Prebriefing and Professional Development are welcome editions. Additionally, all existing Standards were updated to reflect the latest evidence.
The presentation will provide an overview of the standards development process, titles and key elements to include updates and highlights of the two new standards. Participants will be engaged in how best to incorporate the Standards into a Simulation Program.
