Dr. Wallman is a neonatal nurse practitioner with years of experience in community and tertiary neonatal intensive care units and critical care transport. She has been involved in the National Association for Neonatal Nurses in a variety of roles throughout her career including serviing on the Board of Directors and as the Liaison to the American Academy of Pediatrics Committee on Fetus and Newborn. She was a lead author with members on the Committee on Fetus and Newborn on the seminal article in 2007 defining the late preterm infant. She is also currently on the Board of Directors for the National Certification Corporation. Throughout her career her scholarship of application has focused on working with families and newborns experiencing the impact of substance use disorders and the legalization of marijuana has had neonates. She was the lead author on the recent NANN Position Statement on Marijuana, Breastfeeding and the Use of Human Milk.
