• Dr. Artigas has been a board-certified Neonatal Nurse Practitioner for over 25 years. She has dedicated her entire professional nursing career to caring for the most fragile patients and their families. Dr. Artigas graduated from the University of Connecticut with her Doctor of Nursing Practice where her research dissertation focused on Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome and its moral impact on Neonatal Nurses.
• Dr. Artigas published an article: “Management of NAS in the Well Nursery” in The Journal of Women’s Health. Dr. Artigas continues her commitment to supporting the mother/newborn dyad suffering from Opioid-Use Disorder (OUD) and supporting them through research and community services.
• Dr. Artigas’ present research is exploring maternal and family perceptions of care during Opioid-Use Disorder (OUD) recovery and care of their baby with Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS).
Dr. Artigas is the Advance SIG facilitator here at NANN.
