Dr. Michele Savin DNP, APRN, NNP-BC is affiliated with Thomas Jefferson University, and Nemours Children’s Health System. Dr. Savin has worked with women and children for over 30 years. As the Director of the Thomas Jefferson College of Nursing Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program she is responsible for the growth and development of novice NNP’s from around the country. Her clinical practice is in a busy level four Mid- Atlantic NICU.
Michele presents both locally and nationally on neonatal topics and those related to health literacy, trauma informed care and improving communication with families. She has a passion for consumer/parent education and works to help nurses educate families. Michele believes that every nurse should look for the why behind the what in practice. Some of her volunteer work includes being the NANN Faculty SIG moderator and a review editor for NANN. She is currently assisting Project HOPE with curriculum and faculty development to improve the care of infants in Africa.
Michele is most grateful to receive the NANN 2021 NNP excellence award, and very happy to be presenting to NANN again this year.
