Amanda Dear, BSN, RN, RNC-NIC University of Michigan Mott Children and Women's Hospital
Amanda initially graduated with a Bachelors of Science in neuroscience from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor, which led to earning an accelerated Bachelors of Nursing from the University of Detroit Mercy. She started at Children's Hospital of Michigan's NICU, then went back to the University of Michigan Medicine adult ICU. It was clear that adult nursing was not her passion, and she returned to pediatrics at Mott Children and Women's Hosptial Brandon NICU. Since then, she has become a small baby specialist on her unit and completed the Practicing Nurse Evidence Based Practice Fellowship. This fall, she will be attending the Clinical Nurse Specialist DNP program at Rush University. Amanda is passionate about improving developmental care for premature babies and delivering culturally competent care through the Diversity Equity and Inclusion committee.
