Clayton J. Shuman, PhD, MSN, RN is an Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan School of Nursing. He is a maternal-infant health researcher with expertise in implementation science, perinatal substance use, neonatal opioid withdrawal, and maternally-provided neonatal care. He directs two productive labs (SMILE: Shuman Maternal-infant Implementation Lab for EBP and Mplement NOW: Michigan Implementation Lab for Neonatal Opioid Withdrawal) and invented the DAB-RN intervention (Drugs, Art, and Babies for Nurses), an arts-based intervention addressing clinician stigma toward perinatal substance use.
