We present an educational program that decreases maternal stress and anxiety and increases maternal knowledge and self efficacy, thus facilitating better mother-infant bonding and earlier discharge from the NICU. Perinatal education and support is best performed by the clinical RNs as they are the front-line staff in supporting new NICU moms.
