Most families no longer fit in a traditional structure. Caregivers must to be up-to-date on modern practices in caring for socially complex patient situations, including adoption, surrogacy, LGBT+ and transgender care, incarcerated patients, and those struggling with substance use disorder. With this additional training, participants will gain the tools and scripting to care for these families with confidence. We will address the history of specific patient populations, review updated language, and challenge you to explore your thoughts, feelings and personal experiences. This will raise your awareness on how these can impact the way you interact with patients. Leave with tools to feel empowered to successfully offer neutral compassionate care to all families with your new found insight.
