Admission temperature is a crucial aspect of care for the very low birthweight population of premature infants. Hypothermia has been associated with life threatening morbidities such as necrotizing enterocolitis, retinopathy of prematurity, sepsis and bronchopulmonary dysplasia. This project has shown that evidence-based practices can be reinforced through the use of multidisciplinary simulation, resulting in improved admission temperatures.
