Abnormal positioning of neonates, especially premature and critically ill neonates, can led to a lifetime of developmental delays-both physiological and behavioral. Proper position can assist with decreasing agitation and stress levels of the neonate, increased weight gain and appropriate joint alignment which will aid in future motor development.
