(1059) Implementing a Multidisciplinary Sepsis Clinical Pathway Improves NICU Timeliness of Antibiotic Administration

Clinical pathways improve the time to antibiotic administration for the sepsis patient. This multidisciplinary NICU team developed a clinical pathway in caring for the suspected sepsis patient. Antibiotic administration time decreased with a median time of 120 minutes to less than 60 minutes. The clinical pathway includes a pre-brief with stop points, action items if barriers are met and a mobile supply cart with a stop clock keeping the team time focused.
