Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) nurses around the globe have adapted varying levels of developmental care principles into their practice. The evidence of the short and long term outcomes of proper developmental care, specifically infant positioning, is irrefutable. The next step is to standardize practice to ensure all patients are receiving evidence based care, and to share the knowledge obtained during the process of standardizing care with other NICU nurses.
