(1024) Golden Hour-Dash for Dextrose

Golden Hour quality improvement initiative aimed to reduce the time to initiation of glucose containing IVF and hypoglycemia while maintaining normothermia. Golden Hour admission and stabilization of the VLBW infant requires a multidisciplinary team approach grounded in teamwork and mutual respect. Golden Hour goals are to stabilize the airway and support oxygenation, maintain normothermia, start glucose containing IVF and administer the first dose of antibiotics within the first hour of life while minimizing stress to the infant. The input of all stakeholders in the process was vital to the success of the first PDSA cycle.
