Anyone involved in a patient’s care is at risk of becoming a second victim. While many organizations have implemented peer support programs, many providers do not know what a second victim is, much less what support is available if and when it happens to them. This project educates NICU nurses about second victims and the peer support program available to them through an online learning module.

Learning Objectives:

Evaluate the effectiveness of the second victim phenomenon and peer support program learning module utilizing pre-post survey responses.
Assess the likelihood of NICU nurses seeking peer support following a traumatic patient event.
