Tamara currently serves as Senior Research & Learning Services Librarian at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, TN where she also liaises to the College of Medicine and manages the information service desk. She earned both a Bachelor and Master of Library & Information Science degree from the University of Southern Mississippi and also holds an Education Specialist degree in Library Media from the University of West Alabama.
Tamara has been an information professional for over a decade and is a distinguished member of the Academy of Health Information Professionals (AHIP).
She is an active member of the Medical Library Association where she serves as chair of the Information Services Domain Hub, Chair-Designate of the Leadership & Management Curriculum Committee, and as a member of the African American Medical Librarians Alliance Caucus’ (AAMLA) Virtual Engagement Committee.
Her research interest include library instruction, information literacy, mentorship; and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
