Environmental Health Program Specialist

April Wright is the regional Community Engagement Coordinator for the Network of the National Library of Medicine at the University of Maryland, Baltimore Regional Medical Library. There, she manages a portfolio of grants focused on health information outreach and promoting awareness the All of Us Research Program. She earned her BA in English from Morgan State University and MLS from The Catholic University of America. She has worked in a variety of libraries during the course of her career spending most of that time in public libraries. April has worked both in and on behalf of public libraries including work with Lubuto Library Partners, a Washington, DC-based nonprofit which takes a holistic, culturally relevant approach to library services for vulnerable children in Zambia and the Urban Libraries Council.
Her interests include environmental health & justice, diversity and inclusion, social determinants of health, citizen/community science and community-engaged research.
