Independent Engineering & Science Researcher
Research Solutions
Sara Tompson, M.S., is a semi-retired engineering and physics librarian. She is an independent contract researcher currently working on projects for DVI Aviation. Tompson is also an instrument ground instructor and instrument-rated private pilot. A Fellow of the Special Libraries Association (SLA), she and Lorri Zipperer presented a session on resilience engineering at SLA's 2020 virtual conference. Tompson and Zipperer have written and taught together for decades, and enjoy how their different world views enhance their collaborations. She is excited to expand the application of resilience engineering principles to health sciences libraries with Zipperer and Nicole A Capdarest-Arest. Tompson lives in Lawrence, KS with her husband Kevin, their cat Hilda, and a large garden.
